  • LSA Builders in Arizona? The Southwest?

    Hi,
I've taken a look at the site with the BH builder's map, it only shows 4 place and Patrol, and was wondering if anyone knew of any LSA builders/flyers in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, So Cal or Utah.
I am about ready to take the plunge, with having gotten plans, and just want to see if I can "try one on for size" before the build begins. Even if it were to see one partially built and not flying would work.

Hi John, are you using the map at http://bearhawkbuilders.com? It should have a few LSAs as green pins. There just aren't very many yet! As far as someone with an LSA that is far enough along to be able to sit in, I would suspect there are half a dozen at most, depending on how many kits have shipped. Since the map is entirely voluntary and requires effort to opt in, it only reflects a small percentage of plans and kit owners- maybe 25% or so. If cabin size is one of your concerns, you might try comparing the cabin dimensions of the LSA and the Patrol. I have a hunch that they are probably similar enough to make the Patrol a worthwhile type to visit as a substitute.

            Hi Dave,

I had a feeling you might be in Nevada Dave. It was a comment you made in one of you videos about the bottle of cold water being the most important element of the segment that night...lol Here, just northwest of Phoenix, we can truly relate to those conditions, and even more so this time of year.
I really enjoy watching your progress.
The single most important thing I get from anyone's video's is that you HAVE to put the time in for it to happen, they don't build themselves.

Thanks for taking the time to allow us "starters" to watch and see how it can be done without a fancy shop and a few tools.
