Looking for some thoughts from other patrol wing plans builders. While forming my aileron ribs my form must have shifted a bit and caused there to be less space between the bottom than the top.
My question surrounds the distance from the end of the lightening hole flange to the edge of the rib flange. AC 43.1 doesn't provide any insight. I've attached some photos - what I'm wondering is what is the minimum distance between the two points? Both the middle lightening hole and the small unflanged lightening hole have about 1/8 inch of flat space before the flange for the rib edge. (Here is the only other thread I found about this: Aileron Lightening Holes.) Based on the plans it seems if the lightening hole is square in the middle of the rib, the questioned area would be 3/16 on top and bottom.
