  • gear adustment starting point

I would like to work on my gear fairings while the fuse is still mounted on the rotating stand. Anybody have an idea where to start or how much the gear moves with weight on it?
    Thanks

Hi Jim. Bob says he wants the gear spread 72" "at normal flying weights" and max 74" at gross. Tire center to tire center. And the shock struts do spread the gear out when the weight of the wings/engine etc is on the airframe. So you might consider spreading the gear out with something to simulate the weight of a ready to fly plane. If you can get the gear even somewhat close - like 66" to 68" - your fairings would work fine. Mark

If your fuse is still on a stand, and not resting on the gear, why not just disconnect the shock struts and put a spacer between the gear legs to set them at the distance Mark posted?
