  • Update - Eric Newton's Patrol Project

Well the list of items needed to complete my Patrol project is getting shorter and shorter now.

Here is a picture of what she looks like as of today. I pushed it out and washed the dirt off and snapped a couple of quick pictures. The spinner needed a couple of more coats of paint since its a bit light and doesn't match the nose bowl, so that's being done tonight. Tomorrow, I will be doing the weigh-in to see how I did in saving the ounces here and there.

I have a few detail items like hooking up the engine monitoring sensors on the engine, bleeding the brakes and dong the first engine run. Those will be accomplished in the next couple of weeks.

Then I will contact the Jackson FSDO and see how long before I can get an inspector down here. The reports are that they are being fairly responsive, so I'm going to give them a try.

I have been updating the website slowly since a printed version of that will be my builder's log. I appologize in advance for a lack of detailed pictures. I lost my camera sometime during the move from the place where I painted it to the airport. It had all of my pictures so it was quite a loss. I am trying to reproduce what I can.
I will post up my W&B stuff tomorrow evening.

    Thanks,

By the way, Those tires are temporary. The are some old 6.00 x 6 tires I had laying around. The real ones are 8.00 x 6, are in the back seat of my truck, and they will be mounted before first flight.

It looks like it's ready for a calendar picture to me!

Maybe if I can get a couple of more things done in time. I would like to change to the larger tires and if you look closely you will see that the cowlng doors are being held closed with clecoes. I need to install the Dzus faseners. What is your deadline?
