  • Flap Quadrant not machined properly

My flap quadrant was supplied with the slots
not machined wide enough to accept the 1/4” pin of the flap
handle mechanism. It gives the perception of engagement but a tap of the handle has it pop out of position. This could be a safety issue in flight if not detected. Also I found the slot in the flap handle interfered with the aluminum quadrant and I had to extend it back about 1/4” in the milling machine to provide adequate clearance. Anyone else notice
    this?

Mine engaged the slots, but I didn't care for the ramps and slots. I modified the quadrant to have ramps for all 4 notches. I made a different (longer) handle, as well. Works very nicely.

That’s a good option. I may just make a new one since I have a CNC mill. I hadn’t considered ramping everything but that makes sense.

Bruce, that part was cut by hand. With band saw and file. Not done on any CNC anything. Your point is a good one to let builders know.
