N22HD round cowl details

Hi all,

I'm after the details of N22HD Patrol round cowl option, if anyone knows whether it came from another aircraft cowl type or was from a scratch mold I'd appreciate any details/ issues?

I always thought that was a sharp looking plane. It LOOKS to me like an rv cowl. But I'm not sure. Id be interested to know details as well

I reached out to Mark and got the number for original owner/builder of 22HD.

As he recalls he used an RV-7 cowl to copy, and modify a lot to make what you see above. Their plan was to then build a Carbon Fiber one, but just never got to it, and later sold it to a new owner.
He wouldn't do it again due to the amount of work involved, and he did add a big cowl flap underneath for cooling. They were using a tuned IO360 with some bells and whistles putting out 210-212hp so it was all there.
