  • Welding engine mount for Patrol

I purchased the Dynafocal Engine Ring Mount from Aircraft Spruce and designed a mount for my Bearhawk that gives the proper 1 degree down as required by Bob. Sandblasted the ring mount and here it is tack welded together. The folks at VR3 in Canada cut the tubes per the design. The fit up and quality of the Dynafocal mount from Spruce is superb, all four bolts slip into place with just light finger pressure. Full welding tomorrow.

I’m so glad you have this issue addressed. It took me I think about 4.5 hours to install all four bolts. “I never want to do that job again.” was my conclusion after getting installed and thought that was the norm. The Spruce engine ring sets a high standard of “This job is no big deal.” It looks like your jig is top notch. Wow!

Thanks Brooks, it’s been a journey. Can’t wait to see the engine hung.
