I’m getting close to covering my fuselage, and checking off the remaining items before I start covering. When I installed the tail spring and Bearhawk tailwheel, I reamed the bolt hole in the fuselage to 5/16, and installed a close tolerance bolt. The bolt provides for a very good fit left to right, but there is still some play between the tail spring and socket up and down. There is also quite a bit more play than I’d like to see between the tail spring and the socket on the tailwheel. I recall reading somewhere a while back about installing the tail spring with loctite retaining compound to fill any gap. I can’t seem to find that information now. Has anyone had issues with the amount of slop in the tail spring? What have you guys done to mitigate it?

Advice given to me by Bob was to use Loctite Red on that joint, I have to say that it's held very well since over several hundred hours. Without it there was play in the joint with the holes beginning to enlarge.Nev Bailey
