  • Cost to build BH4/5 wings from scratch

Just totaled up the cost to build my wings from scratch. ~$17900. This includes the following: Rib/spar kit and ail/flap hinges from Bearhawk, all four fuel tanks to include fancy caps/fuel level sensors/transfer pumps/filters/finger strainers/all plumbing, landing/taxi and strobe/position lights, carbon wingtips and aluminum wing struts from Bob, Garmin heated pitot with AOA, Garmin GSA28 AP servo, all cable pulleys, all bolt/nut/anchor hardware, all wiring for all wing mounted electrical components, all pitot tube plumbing, epoxy primer for everything, basically every single thing to make them ready to fly except covering and paint.

Mmm... less if REALLY from scratch, although have no idea if BHA has decided to go back to selling partial kits.

As of last week when i emailed back and forth with virgil they are staying away from selling parts for the wings it seems like and are trying to stick to selling quick build wings for ~$50,000 ish plus or minus. still not a bad deal if somebody wanted to scratch build their fuselage for the practice but doesnt have the skillset to form ribs
