  • Aussie Bearhawk Buyer

    Hi Everyone,

I spent 2 years getting ready to build but in the end, the sliding exchange rate made it completely unrealistic. The Aussie dollar is worth almost half what it was a couple of years ago meaning that the original $100k budget is more like $200k. As luck would have it, MCZ, a lovely scratch built 2002 Bearhawk recently came onto the market. I flew up to see it yesterday and all things going to plan will pick it up next month. I'd still like to build at some point in the future, but for now I'm happy with the purchase.

    Cheers,
    Nick

    Hi Nick,

yep, I am in exactly the same boat, but I couldn't stump up the 100k plus to buy Merv's when it came on the market. (Well done!)
Also, for me there's no point in having a plane unless I can self-maintain it. It's about building-maintaining-flying-learning, the complete package.
Now, the thing is, I've never seen a bearhawk in real life: where are you located? Could I come over and see it one day?

PS - ever heard of anyone putting HF on a bearhawk?
