    Hi everybody,
I am just new member but not a builder of aircraft. I hope to be new owner and pilot of Bearhawk. I definitely don't have suitable conditions for building aircraft here but I will keep my eyes on the imarket and will try to fulfill my dream. Bearhawk seems to be the most suitable aircraft for me. But it will be not easy way definitely.
I am fighter pilot retired for 15 years now, still flying but keeping my hands on the light weight category here (MTOM 1322lbs) due to expenses related to private flying, still keeping my flight instructor license, mostly on SportCruiser PS28 (former PiperSport) and Viper SD4.
About 3 years I owned my first private aircraft, shoulder-wing aircraft STYLUS (sort of AvidFlyer/Kitfox breed but with ailerons and flaps), now I am proud owner of Bristell TDO aircraft for one year (since June 2017) with about 200 hours on clock since new. Bristell is excellent high speed all-metal plane, taildragger with all features I could pay for, STOL definitely, but unfortunately low wing and what is worse, low tail. I am always very cautious about unprepared strips due to possible damage from long grass or scrub.
That's the reason I am looking at Bearhawk as right solution.
We are now three pilots in family, my oldest and middle sons are flying as well, so Bristell has legitimate place, but my dream is to have two-place Bearhawk.
I can put some aviation pictures here as well if anybody is interested how we are doing here in the heart of Europe

Welcome to our group Jenki, great to have a European perspective on aviation.

Thank you Rod (is it correct?) I hope that finally I will reach solution, for now I am more as observer and gathering information for final decision.
Well, our European perspective of general aviation is far back comparing American. Your country is beautiful and really challenging for aviators, particularly bush pilots and backcountry flying.
We are very often more administrators and paper-warriors here rather then aviators.
But we have some bright moments here as well For example, we don't have too much limitations regarding complexity of the aircraft we are building - it means, I can have retractable gear and variable or constant speed propeller on my plane as well, the limit is just MTOM 1322lbs maximum.
Regarding my dreams, my favorites are two designs, one of them is Murphy Rebel and other one is Bearhawk. Both are STOL, both are all-metal wing construction (very important in my local conditions) robust enough and able to come under our national/EU accepted category less then 1322lbs (similar to LSA).
Flying since 1980 I am paying respect to everybody able to build and maintain aircraft. That's the reason why I am not a builder, but I need to define exactly what my future aircraft has to be.
I hope that I will learn here enough to make right decision.

            Thank you
Now I am owner of Bristell TDO aircraft since June 2017. The main goal was to build my taildragger time properly to be ready for next step to bush-plane. Although I am flying since 1980 all my professional flying was about tricycles / only basic training I had on taildragger. Hence I did switch to Bristell TDO, some bigger wheels as well (not really tundra) .
