  • Markall Welder's Pencils

I have been trying Markall's Welder's Pencils for the last week or so. Was frustrated at the rate my Sharpies were going stale. So far the pencils aren't bad. The silver works pretty well for the oily tubing. The red works ok for the sheet steel. The lines are sharp and the marks are more permanent than soapstone, though not as permanent as a new Sharpie. I think I'm sold on the pencils for now. Until I find something better. -Casey Sent from mobile

Sounds like a good tip, thanks!

The machine shop near me uses white out to mark steel. Specifically Pentel Presto Jumbo Correction Pen. Link: http://amzn.com/B00006IQCI

Never thought of a white out pen. I'll have to give that a try.

If you have old sharpies, try sharpening them on the bench grinder, sometimes I get several more weeks out of them.
