  • Dual Setrap Oil Coolers

Just assembled the dual Setrap 9 row oil coolers. They have rubber shock mounts and O-Rings on the cooler fittings. Very nice quality. Pictured next to the Pacific 11 row cooler that will go bye-bye. These are going in our BH5 build with IO-580. We are based in Phoenix area and routinely fly in 100+ temps.

Excited to see how these work, are you going to mount them to the rear baffles or somewhere else?

Plan is at the edges of the cowl. 3" SCAT tubes coming from side mounted NACA ducts. Worse case is I make a P-51 style radiator cowl between the gear legs!

U2fletch I would totally go with the P-51 under the pilot's seat, just for the aesthetic factor alone! If folks put in a belly pod, you could put in the dual radiator (oops - oil cooler) scoop and outlet. Of course, running the oil lines that far might present some engineering challenges, but you're the guru in solving that - oil being a lot thicker than the coolant in the P-51.
