I'm digging through Eric Newton's (excellent!) manuals and noticed that his tools list doesn't mention a lathe, though some of the wing parts feature turned components. Is a lathe required for scratch building?
Also, how far do you need to go to avoid cross contamination? I understand that you don't want to use the same abrasive discs on steel and aluminum, but do you need to go full Kosher and have separate aluminum and steel drill bits/unibits/fly cutters? Band saw blades*? Snips? Deburring tools?
(*Notwitstanding the need for different bandsaw blades with different tooth densities for the two metals anyways)
