This sheet metal brake is 60 inches long, But it can be up size. the gauge of the metal used should be plenty strong plus the tension rods installed on the clamp plate will stop deflection.
I've sent you PDF files as well as DWG files in case you have access to CNC machines. I can convert the DWG files to DXF if that would be better.
I used and eight foot homemade brake to bend the spars on the Bearhawk that I built. I also bent the spars for the LSA Bearhawk that I'm building now. It didn't bend them perfectly but they will work. Mel K. Big Piney Wy.

Here are the sheet metal brake plans that I have. I'm posting them here for a couple of reasons.
1.) I'm getting a lot of requests to share them and some emails are not going through.
2.) Although I can't remember nor find where I downloaded these from, I am fairly certain they were a free download, so I don't think there's any harm.
John Snapp, I bent my spars on my homemade brake. No drawings or pics handy but you are welcome to stop by and take a look if you find yourself in the Scottsbluff NE area, my shop is in Mitchell. It consists of 2 10' pieces of 1/4"x 3" angle and one 10' piece of 3/16"x3" angle for a hold down bar, 5 door hinges, and a dozen or so 3/8" bolts to clamp the metal between the hold down bar and the stationary angle. There is a 1 1/4" square tubing handle that is removable for storage. The entire works bolts to a 2'x8' "eaa" bench. The spars came out straight and the radius was about twice what the plans call for. A little more radius won't hurt anything, it is the tighter than plans call for radius that causes problems. I can get just shy of 90 degrees (80ish if I remember right) on an piece about 6-8' and 100+ degrees on the shorter pieces (<4'). I have an extra piece of angle that gets clamped to the bending bar to complete the bend if the bend is > than 80 degrees or so. I originally wanted to use a 1/8" hold down bar which would have been pretty much right on for the radius but it was not available locally when I built mine. I use painter's masking tape on all steel surfaces that contact the aluminum. You will have to put your back into it to bend 8' of .032 2024t3 on a home made brake that is not counterbalanced but it can be done. It takes longer to bend metal on a homemade brake than a professional brake, but when you work night shift and need to bend spars at 3am it is much more convenient than changing your sleep schedule. Hope this helps some. I am not an engineer, architect, computer programmer/guru/genius so coming up with drawings like the auto cad ones that get through around here become a royal PITA for me. Uploading pics is also a PITA since the forms do not like the size of my files.
