  • Hartzell prop restrictions with Lyc 200 hp io-360

I've been trying to find reliable info on-line regarding Hartzell CS propeller (80") restrictions with 200 hp IO-360 with crankshaft torsional vibration dampers. There seem to be some indications that the dampers eliminate the restrictions. Anyone out there have any info about this?

Hi Ray. The newer counterweights on the crankshaft allow use of the "compact" hub modern Hartzell prop. My recollection is that an option for a vibration dampener ring (from Hartzell) is an alternative. This is if your engine is an A1A. If it is an A1B6 (IO360) then you have the good counterweights on the crank. In a 540 the designations are different. Going by memory here. Mark

Thanks, Mark. Sounds like I am good-to-go with my IO-360-A3B6D, which has the fancy crankshaft counterweight dampeners. I have a brand new compact hub with refurbished 80 inch blades.
