  • Strut attach bar area

Is it acceptable to put a flush rivet in the capstrips? I have a hole right on the edge of a strut attach bar. My options are to put a flush rivet in there or leave the rivet out. The distance from the centre of the bolt hole for the strut attach bar to the rivet hole is 1.25". Ideas?

I thought the plans called for a bolt through there, to hold the steel straps in place...?

Hi Jono. The bolt goes through the centre of the strap. The rivet hole is right on the edge of the strap.
Looks like a fun trip beach hopping with BGI and the 150 the other day. Not jealous at all. No really. :-)

Yes, I put a double countersink in two locations where I had a issue like this. I talked to Bob about it if you are wondering….do it and move on….
