  • prepping the trailing edges

I accidentally found a great way to support the trailing edge material during the cleaning and etching process. I decided to prime then first before bending since the inside would be difficult to access after bending. But this means there is no flange at all on these nearly 9' strips, so they're extremely floppy.

BTW, a cloudy day with light drizzle is perfect for this, using the Stewart's system.

Making your own trailing edge, I bow to you Sir Chewie. Thats hard core homebuilding. I bought mine.

Hey Gerald Im in agreement with you Chewie is a hard core scratch builder and a very good one at that. Where did you buy your trailing edges? Ill probably go down the same path when it comes time. I asked Mark G about it but I think it would be too difficult to have them shipped without damaging them. Ill probably end up making them if I cant buy them.

Thanks DavzLSA. A box of goodies I bought from Dallas Shell says otherwise, but glad I gave you that impression!

I bow back atcha for taking the smart approach. I actually did look into buying them but what I found didn't seem nearly deep enough. Maybe it's the way I fluted the ribs?
