Which Taxi Camera?

I have a Dynon Skyview HDX and my most recent conversation with them (3+ months ago) about a taxi camera they said they currently are not set up for the video to show on the HDX screen but that is subject to change. I figure I should go ahead and put one in for when the capability comes back. Yes you read that correctly, they used to have the capability.

So I am looking for a small camera eye to mount on my nose bowl. Anyone have a suggestion or link to one they used?

Jay, I don’t have a camera in mind, as their is numerous versions that would work. Get the highest resolution that your screen will display.

My personal opinion also is take a close look after getting a camera as to the best viewpoint location. I’m not sold on the idea that under the cowl is best, but I don’t have experience using one so that opinion is subject to change.

Even with the super cheap camera it works really well. I put mine in the nose bowl right below the spinner. It makes taxiing in tight quarters at the airport and in the bush way easier and safer.

I am also considering a taxi camera. I was thinking about putting it in the leading edge of the wing to avoid prop flicker, routing through the firewall, and heat induced failures from having it in the cowl. This is my preliminary thinking. Actual installation methods subject to change.

I was always going to have a wing strut camera, I am going to use it as my taxi cam too. I am a big fan of GoPro cameras, but I am going with a Drift Ghost XL for the wing strut.
