Acme Pro Shocks available for 2nd Edition Gear Legs

On both the Model Five and the Patrol, Acme PatrolPro and AirAssualt shocks have been tested and verified to be a substantial improvement, particularly in rebound dampening but also in ground handling.

As they are designed with the same top and bottom heim joints Bearhawk uses, they are direct replacement for any of the newer kits, built-assist, or someone with newer Gear Legs. They do not fit the original gear legs as it does not provide room for the OD of a Heim joint to fit into the leg socket.

They are available to order from Bearhawk, and there is a lead time of typically 4 weeks.

Here's an example of some fun testing the PatrolPro's, with both a soft landing and a hard landing.

My serial number is 58P-111P/112P-299P. Is this new enough to accept the PatrolPro shocks?

Fred, There are little to no records of on what serial number changes happened during Mark's tenure, but it was a change prior to Virgil's ownership. The Model Five has always had it, but the Patol was a change, I would throw out a wild guess near 2022. My kit is #73 and had the old style so I assume yours does as well.

The best way to tell gear is just to compare the lower attachment points.

Yep. I've got the old style. So I'm guessing I'd have to change the gear legs to make it happen, correct? If so, does the new gear have the same geometry or does it sit any higher?

Yes, new gear Fred. Same geometry, thicker wall tubing and revised shock mounts.
