Elevator Bell Crank Question

Hello. I’ve been working on the elevator bell crank and I noticed a couple discrepancies between the call out sheet and text manual on the website.

The online manual call for a bushing to go between the bearings that are pressed into the bell crank (see the pic from the manual below). The call out sheet has no mention of this bushing and it wasn’t provided in the kit. Also, from watching Colby’s videos it seems like he was using 4 bearings. 2 on each side. I was only provided 2 total. Lastly, the rod end size for the pushrod is different than the manual. Mine is a 5/16. Quite a bit larger than the manual says.

Questions.

1) Is a bushing needed?
2) Just 2 bearings?

I felt the bushing was needed so I installed one.

Thanks. It seems like it most definitely need one. I just wanted to pick some brains before committing to all this.

You can take a gander at my post on this. Virgil says no bushing needed on the new ones.

Thanks John. I will say that my kit (#75) looks like there’s a raised lip that’s been welded into the bell crank where the bearings sit. If I pressed the bearings in, they would rest against this lip and it would be really hard to have a side load placed on them. Hence the reason that the bearings didn’t seem to make sense. I’ll take a look at the post. Thanks, Allen
