Elevator Rib Stitch

I’m a newbie fabric guy. Do you rib stitch the horizontal round bar at the end of the elevator? Wondering since the fabric lays down in it. It’s not a rib but wondering if it should be stitched?

Ribs only, your fabric go over on to the other side 75% around the tube, your second side cover about 50% of the radius. With your tape on you will be good.

Thank you! Looks like tapes anywhere there is a metal structure underneath the fabric? Does it make sense to have a tape if there is a gap between the metal structure and the fabric?

You'll want to pick a covering syatem and follow their taping rules precisely. Covering is one area where the guidance is very specific and easy to follow.

I used Oratex's certified (on Pitts Special etc.) stitch-less system. Worked a treat, lovely finish too. No painting either required... was super for the interior also

My understanding is it’s Aircraft Vne specific. Using the chart of Spacing vs Vne it would be 2.5 inch for a Bearhawk5. I confirmed this with Virgil.
