Hopeful Scratchbuilder

Big difference but two great planes, I’m on the list for a model 5 but hope to build a patrol in 5-10 years for when some of the kids are out of the house. Whats got you in between the two?
 
I'm single without a family, but still hopeful; so i don't need more space, but I might someday?

I'm really leaning toward the Patrol because I've already got another four-place airplane, though not good for short fields.
