Induction - latest and greatest BH induction

I have only had a couple of issues with my BH4, cooling and induction. Both self-induced. I just changed a part of my induction to what others have been doing on the 4 and 5, at least partially. I put a 3.5" round induction in the fiberglass nosebowl. It made a reasonable improvement in MAP, and fixed an unexpected problem.

But I think it could still be improved, inside the cowling. Is there a "best practices" for what a lot of BH4 and 5's are being built with?

How large of an intake tube?
Type of filter used"
Alternate air?

One of the "interesting" problems with my induction was heat. Most of it being the ingestion of hot air. The standard cowl is so large that some air that went in, came out 40-50 F hotter, and got sucked down the intake. Showed up initially as a huge reduction in power/speed for the same MAP/RPM. I have EFI with Intake air temp sensors. I doubt I would have ever figured it out otherwise. I changed to the intake under the spinner, and that has been fixed.

Cooling is much improved.
