Can I cover the elevators before trying out the flying wires?

I did not plan and did not realize that the lead time on the flying wires could be upto 3 months. wondering if I can go ahead and cover the elevators and rudder before trying out the fly wires? Can't think of a reason why I should not, has anyone covered theirs before purchasing the flying wires?

I would think it would be fine... everything is an external attachment. Just don't try to fly without them
