Only on the rear spar, 2024 on the main.

found some local at a metal supermarket in kitchener ontario. now...just looking for the best option for the 2024-t3 1.25 x .123 main spar cap strips. still contemplating buying a full 4x12 sheet and getting it sheared but not really economical if i dont have someone to split the sheet with. Anyone building a bearhawk near waterloo, ontario, canada interested in splitting a 4x12 sheet of 2024-t3 for the main cap strips. Gary. 519 223 0368

                I found 1 1/4 x 1/8 2024T3 Aluminum Bar up to 12' long at Aircraft Spruce for $5.50/ft.

Wicks has 2024T4 for $4.00 a foot. It might be worth asking Bob if that would be an airworthy substitute.

Ops. I re-read and see the need for 14 footers.

I opted for 4x12 sheet of .125 and I'll be ripping the sheet with a circular saw for the front spar cap strips.

Aft ones, well, they're 14-foot solid, so Wicks is the only aircraft supplier of them out there. When I placed my aluminum order with TW Metals, they didn't have the long stuff, which surprised me. The Forsythe supplier mentioned earlier looks like a good option for those aft ones as well. I wasn't aware of that vendor.
