I built a set of tear drop shaped reinforce gussets that fit over the elevator hinge attach strap and bolts go threw them. I can not find in bear tracks where it says to make the change to this instead of the stiffener that fits between the two straps.Can some one point me the way,and do they weld on to the strap or just bolt over it. I can t tell. thanks all

Mike, I think those may be something that came along for a little while in the first couple of kits, but were later removed. -
So what are the builders using to stiffen the strap that connects the elevator to the horizontal stabilizer.On drawing 21 hinge for elevator it show a stiffener 1/2 wide welded in. the tear drop was supposed to be a better fix , was it. what are they doing now.Comment

I'm speaking above my knowledge when it comes to interpreting plans. Bob is the person I'd recommend for that. I wonder if there has been a change since your set of plans was printed? We have the same drawings. Do you know how to contact Bob.I am pretty sure the change to the tear drop pieces was in a bear tracks as an update. they fit on top of the strap as a stiffener. I dont know if they weld on to the strap or just bolt on with the same bolt.it is too late to weld on the the brace that is shown as they are fabric covered and painted.Comment
