  • Eric newtons wing needs estimate

On eric newtons wing needs estimate sheet, for the two .020 sheets, on the 4x8 sheet he had 2 strips require at 2.5 x 91 inches and 4 strips at 3x91 inches all six labelled for flap pocket stiffiners. From the plans I come up with 4 flap pocket stiffeners at 2.5x91 inches. Am I missing something here? I cant find the use for the 3x91 .020 stiffeners he has listed thanks

If you look down options on left side there is estimated materials list for wings

On sheet 9 of the plans, I see where the 2.5" pieces go, but not the 3" ones. I, too, am perplexed.

Right. I'll go with a miscalculation at this time. I'm going with 4 at 2.5 inches x 91ish for now. Thanks for the reply. I'm just hit and miss on my sheets right now and I'm laying things out on them. I'd like to cut my flap and aileron leading edges out now but don't want to short cut myself anyhow. I'm cutting it close for material and those extra, that I think is extra,6 inches will keep me from needing to buy another sheet. Thanks again.

How much material do you have? I have a 4x12 sheet of .020, since that was the easiest way to purchase them when I bought all of my aluminum, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have more than enough, even for two airplanes . All I recall seeing .020 used for was flap nose, aileron nose, a bit of aileron/flap bracing, and I think the aileron bay inner skin.

Two 4x8 I have . Should have just enough I think. Since there was a lot of strips there isnt much choice to lay the pieces out on a sheet
