  • Flap to Aileron wing skin junction

    Hi chaps. Could someone please post a photo of the bottom and top skins at the junction between flap and aileron, where the skin does a step. I am trimming my skins and would like some clarity before cutting. Thanks.

    Here is one I took today from the Bearhawk stand at KOSH. I will endeavor to get some detailed ones for you tomorrow..

      Hi Brad,
      I don't have a photo - which is bothersome, however I know where you mean and can recall it.

      Obviously you are lapping the skins outboard over inboard, so the step in for the flap is somewhat hidden for the lower sheet.

      There's a little rib in there, which supports that overhanging piece and closes the "hole" which you are probably seeing at this time in your build. This is a Patrol wing, but you can see the little rib clearly.
