Float mounting modifications.

I originally posted this to the wrong site.

I searched my copies of Bear -Tracks and found 3 articles about changes to the fuselage to install floats. The first is for changes in the tubes that at Station E-M. The second was for a bracket at station G-K for an extra vertical fin. The last I found was for bushings at Station E-M to bolt brackets to mount the rear legs for floats.

Did Bod publish any more drawings for float mountings? The first drawing I found dates back to 1996.

I can still add the bushings but in a month or so, I will have the fuselage painted.

I don't recall any others. You should look at other sites including Paul Minelga's youtube video with Rob Taylor on the mounting before you do the bushings.

Thinking back, there was a discussion about a lift clevis to use when installing floats. I can not find that posting or article.

Thanks for the Minega reference, it was very instructive. Especially because he was working with a standard fuselage.

For cubs they use a piece of steel flatbar twisted 90 degrees and pass the wing attach bolt through it to make a lifting eye. Seems like a good solution to me, I'm going to make some so I can lift my aircraft off the ground for wheel changes, etc.
