  • Control Stick Pushrod details

What size bearings are used in the control stick pushrod? In the 4-place, there is a little pushrod that connects the control stick assembly to the bellcrank which is connected by cables to the elevator. I measured the shaft diameter on the bearings in my plans and they look to be somewhere in between 5/16" and 3/8". I could find nothing about it in any of the standard reference material. I need to know so that I can use the appropriate nuts in the construction of the pushrod. Thanks for your help!

    I used GMM-3M-570 Aurora bearings.

whee, you rock! I'm curious though, was that an engineering judgement or did that come from a reference that I overlooked?

On the quickbuild kits, the pushrod is "tapped" for 5/16-24. It's a piece of tubing with nuts welded to it. I think as a rule of thumb in parsing those Aurora part numbers, the "3" in 3M is the bearing ID (3/16") and the "5" is for 5/16-24 shaft.
