To flange wing skins or not along overlap

From what I have seen some guys are "kinking" a narrow edge at wing skin overlaps. As far as the overlap areas, how are you guys doing the edge running front to back down length of rib? I would think a kink here may not be necessary? I would think along spar line and other overlaps along length of wings would require a kink due to wing contour? Thanks again.

Gary, by rolling the top edge down this helps to keep the edge from turning up when you rivet it.
