I am getting ready to order control cable for my project and noticed that Aircraft Spruce offers it in two varieties: normal and pre-stretched. I didn't know there was even a choice. Pre-stretched in the 1/8th is even a few cents cheaper. Thoughts from anyone?

The cables I used on my Cherokee were pre-stretched. Also McFarlane who makes PMA replacement cables for Cessna and Piper uses pre-stretched cables for all of their cables.John Snapp (Started build in Denver, CO) Now KAWO -Arlington Washington Bearhawk Patrol - Plans #255 Scratch built wing and Quickbuild Fuselage as of 11/2021. I would use the galvanized cable and not the stainless cable. There have been problems with the stainless cables breaking strands in the certified world, the stainless wears between the strands and the galvanize acts more as a lubricant. Galvanized is also cheaper. Maybe if I was building a floatplane for saltwater use I might use stainless on the rudders only. Check into this please. Also galvanized will last many decades.
Good luck,
