Very nice Dave. I see your strut mounts are gold - they're not Alodined are they? (Generally not recommended for steel.)

Did you put 5 rivets in the main spar spacer bars (excluding spar caps) ? Did you put a rivet in the center of the spacer bars rather than a double flush rivet? There is a lot of difference in the way I have seen this done and the amount of rivets used in the spacer bars. The plans show a total of 4 including the spar caps, I believe, with the center being a double flush rivet on spacer bars alone, not including rib attach angles.
Apparently more rivets are optional. I have a pic from Avipro wing displayed at 2010 Oshkosh and it shows 5 rivets per spacer bar with the center being riveted through rib attach angle.. Eric's manual shows 5 each bar, as well.

Dan, I did not do a double flush rivet on the spacer bars. Each of my attach angles have 5 rivets holding them. IMO, the double flush does nothing for you and they are a PITA unless you have a rivet shaver.

Dave, Thanks. It seems to me it would be just as easy to align everything as you did without the flush rivet. Your spars look great by the way.

At nose rib #9 did you flush rivet the spacer bars on the aft side of the main spar where the aileron linkage steel attaches? It seems to me that in order for the steel fitting to lie flat on the spar capstrips/spacer bars you cannot have a 20470 rivet head, or a shop head for that matter.

Dan, Rib location #9 has not been finalized yet so I have not taken any action there. It is my intention to only put the spacer bar on the forward (nose rib) side of the spar so the buck tails will clear the flap steel. Once I know the location of the flap steel I'll install the spacer and attach angle.

Thanks, Dave. This is not clear on the plans and I could not find it addressed in Eric's manuals.
