All,
I'm finishing the fitting of the control surfaces to my second wing (finally!) and a question occurred to me. The major hinge rod ends (the big ones) define the distance between the aileron hinges mounted to the aileron spar. This distance is significantly larger than the width required by the aileron pushrod rod end. Should the pushrod rod end be allowed to move within this larger distance or should it be captured with washers to prevent side-to-side movement on the bolt shank? My gut tells me to capture it with washers.
Best,
John
