Cowling bottom carb cutout

Im attempting to see jow much of my carb will be sticking out of bottom of cowl when cut out for the airbox. Its looking like quite a bit of carb will be sticking outbof cowl. Including about 1inch at the rearmost of carb. Does this sound reasonabl . Will my build out for airbox work out ok with this much sticking out?:: does anyone have pics or remember how much their carb was sticking out before building around it? Its an o360. Thanks. Gary
