  • Pitot tube location

Guys, I'm planning on going with the Garmin G3X AOA GAP 26 heated probe...looking for recommendations on location on the wing. Thanks!

The bay just outboard of the strut attach point is a good place, lots of access, read the Bearhawk kit-builders manual for the recommendation (available online from Bearhawk Aircraft).

Probably goes without saying, but you may want to consider mounting it to a removable plate (access panel) so you have more room to work when the inevitable happens and you need to get in there for maintenance...and also for hooking it up. That may be listed in the kit builder's manual but it has been a couple years since I looked through it.

That is a good point. Also for transport to the airport, removing the pitot can be helpful.
I made mine a screw-on pitot tube with nut-plates, using a doubler of course.
    Working...
