  • MS or AN Turnbuckles

While ordering for turnbuckels on AS, I came across the MS series turnbuckels. These seem to have a locking clip instead of using safety wire for the AN ones. Are the MS ones preferred over the AN turn buckles?

I alays prefer the locking clip ones.

Having used safety wire for mine...

That stuff is hard to work with (on your hands) and I am always concerned about poking holes in the fabric... The time savings for maintenance are definitely worth the extra cost of the clip-kind. You will thank yourself in the long run.

Thanks for the reply, I was not sure if there was a specific reason for the AN kind being mentioned in the builder assistance manual. This really helped.

I am using the clip style mainly because I know how big of a PITA safety wiring turnbuckles through access panels can be. They cost a little more but your blood pressure will thank you down the road.
