Plate Nuts for access panels

Guys, its time for me to start making my access panels. What is everyone using for plate nuts in this application? I have some MS21047-l06 plate nuts coming from spruce. Is this what everyone has been using?

Please advise. Also, if you have any tricks/tips on installing these by all means feel free to suggest away!

I used K1000 plate nuts.

I used the K1100-06, which is the dimpled version of the K1000. Since the support ring is 032, I countersunk the rivet holes and used a #6 dimple die for the screw hole. Since there are 500+ plate nuts between the main tank, access panels and aux tank....I purchased the plate nut jig from spruce and it's worth every penny of $45.

If you go the K1100 route, vans aircraft was the cheapest place I found them. .64 vs. Spruce's 1.88 <--that's not a typo.

I went with the router method that Wayne Massey detailed in his kitlog, was very happy with the results...perfect cutouts with minimal work to clean up the cut edges.

The Yard is running a special on nutplate jigs this month: http://www.yardstore.com/browse.cfm/2,434.html The number 6 jig will work for both 6 and 8 size plates, you'll just have to drill the center hole up to the next size once you have drilled the #40 holes. I usually used the k1000s and added my own dimples, which required modifying a dimple die. Sometimes there are good deals on eBay for surplus nutplates, though I don't see any good deals on #6 size today.
