  • insuring the bearhawk

I have checked into insuring my bearhawk several times over the last 5 years. Living in Alaska, I had no luck in this regard. Has anyone out there had any experiences with this? The plan is to fly it to Oshkosh when done and without liability insurance, I can't fly through Canada.

    thanks.............Rob

No help here on the insurance, I know that can be tough in Alaska. When I flew the Arrow up, we came back down the coast and just did an overflight of Canada so it was a lot simpler and without the extra requirements. Tough deal eAPIS wise if you need to put down in Canada though. ~35 gallons of fuel from Ketchikan to Port Angeles, WA.

I'm not in AK, but in case it helps, my Broker got us a policy with Lloyds of London as the Underwriter.

NZ also enjoys changeable weather, diverse terrain, and poor safety statistics to match - although we don't have aeroplanes being used like a pick-up truck so much, I am told we are at the "worse-off" end of the spectrum in terms of claims / hours flown.
