  • trying to verify my demensions for ribs-----compared to factory----

does anyone remember off hand -- or have written down- the dimensions of the front and rear height of the factory made center wing ribs, and the height of the nose ribs at their rear ( where they butt up to the spar) and maybe the height of the triangular aileron trailing ribs where the meet the spar ?
I would like to know how far off I am from factory heights -------- if anyone has those numbers handy------

    Thanks ahead of time-----

So... that is most def a chicken and egg thing.

Ideally, you bend your spars then form your ribs to that measurement (to include the joggles on the center, aileron and flap ribs). If it is likely we will see factory spar web sets again become available, it might make sense to duplicate their ribs as well, but absent that, it seems like a better bet to go with 'building to plan' and suggest that the builder hold off forming his/her spar webs until your rib set is in hand.

Beyond that, it does risk cracks to rework the ribs to actual spar dimensions, but when I NDI'd the ones I tweaked - even the 032 stuff - no issues.

Finally: someone might consider coordinating with some other frisky senior to put a rib and spar package out. Yes - a 10 or 12 foot brake is heavy, large, and expensive, but if you are pumping out rib sets and someone else is making matching spar sets, life gets a lot easier - albeit less interesting - for the plans-builder.
