New Forum Features: Colors, Navigation, Builder Map

Did you know that you can change the color scheme of this site? If you scroll down to the lower left corner, you'll see a drop-down box with several choices. The box has always been there, but with the most recent software update, you'll be able to choose from many more choices than before.

Also, you may notice that the menu bar (the first text below the logo) has changed. I've removed a few seemingly-useless items and added a link to the builder map. This is the same map as is at http://bearhawkbuilder.com, just presented here for your convenience. Both sites obtain the same data from Google when you load the page, it's just in a different wrapper here. If any of you computer-oriented folks would like to work on modernizing the map so that it displays more useful, Bearhawk-specific marker pins and includes a more automated process for adding and editing, that project is available.

If you find yourself missing any of the menu items that I removed, let me know and I'll replace them.

And of course, if you can think of anything that would make the site more useful or usable, please point it out.

One thing I keep striking is the picture limit of 4 images per post, using the [img] code.

I hate to be the "well, this other forum does this" guy, but I guess I will. I appreciate that EAA's forums (http://www.eaaforums.org/), allows you to mark an individual forum topic/group read instead of the entire site. You're using the same software that EAA does, although yours is newer. I wonder if that feature is available in your config somewhere.

Will investigate. Note that VB version 4 is much more stable and featured than version 5, something I may never understand.

Battson, the limit should now be 12 images per post. Please advise if that is not the case.

Chris, do you see a little icon on the upper-right side of the page with a pencil? I've attached an image of what it looks like on my screen, but it may not be showing up on your view. If it does show up, as I understand it, you can use the menu that pops up when you click on that to mark items read. Click on it while you are viewing the channel (forum, thread, etc) that you'd like to mark read. Let me know if it doesn't look like that for you and we'll investigate further.

I couldn't tell you... I didn't think to look for it until you asked. It certainly doesn't indicate its purpose very well.
