Bearhawk Gathering: Location Secured!

Good afternoon all,

I got myself over to Oshkosh this morning, and secured our camp site and Bearhawk BBQ venue! As jaredyates mentioned, the BBQ will be Tuesday night, July 26 at 6:00p. The site is in Camp Scholler, on 44th Street, south of Lindbergh Avenue. If you were there in past years, it's in pretty much the same place, but the next site down the road. Somebody managed to get to my usual spot before I did. The map is attached.

How is the availability looking in that area? Filling up pretty quickly?

Up where we are, the larger spots were going pretty quickly. But there were still smaller plots available. But that was Saturday. Things are going to start going really quickly now. This weekend, there was still lots of space between 38th St and the highway.

When will you be arriving? Staying all week?

We will be arriving Saturday Morning and departing the following either Saturday night or more likely, Sunday morning. Last year we arrived on the Saturday afternoon and ended up at Stitts and Cedar! (Although we had the big RV back then).

Yeah, by that time, you'll likely be pretty close to the highway! But you could certainly drive the rows close to the show and see if there are any open spots. They do occasionally pop up.

I'm glad we'll be camping with friends who got there a week ago! Had no idea how fast it filled up. I think I'm in for a big eye opener.

It's like NYC with campers and tents. Wall to wall!

For those of us that have not been there before. How do we identify the site other than look for the crowd wearing bearhawk polo shirts?

There will be signs up through the campground to help lead the way. 😁

The crowd will be a good indication, but look for two little yellow arrow signs. Start at the red barn and walk across the big road to go down 44th. If you get to the corn field then you've gone too far.
