We are in Homebuilt Camping row 308 but will likely be leaving tomorrow. I hear Phil Johnson is in Showplane parking but I don't know exactly where.

Here's Phil's plane. Other than the demo planes and Bob Triplett's plane at the booth, his is the only one on the line. Lovely workmanship. He had just replaced to 360 with a 540.

I think I must have been standing in the same place as Chris when I took the photo of Phil's Bearhawk. There are some interesting details in his newest rebuild, including rear seat cabin heat and air provisions, and the new engine. He has made at least three or four major revisions, and this one included recovering the fuselage, adding the profile shape to the tail surfaces, and enlarging the engine. Previous changes included lengthening the nose and going to fabric on the wing control surfaces, and I'm sure other things. At one point he used aluminum sheeting on the wing control surfaces, but realized that it added substantial weight, not just for the sheeting, but also for the increased counterbalance weight.
