I was just informed by the DAR I will be using for my Bearhawk that it is not on the 51% amateur built list. He says that I will now have to complete the FAA Assembly Checklist (2011) where I indicate have to indicate percentages of fabrication or assembly for each area of construction. My understanding is this is nothing new but now is being insisted upon by at least some of the FSDOs. Has anyone ever had to do one of these? It's covered in FAA Order 8130-2H, Section 9, Paragraph 454. Thanks.

The Patrol is not on the list. The checklist must be filled out. Mark G. has a sample he used. I filled out ours without reference to his and came out within about 2%.Comment

Who are you 22LD? That is one thing about this forum that I wish was different. Often I have no idea who the person posting is.
The 4 place QB kit is on the 51% approved list. The other QB kits are not. But it has not been a problem for anyone filling out that form that calculates the percentages. For the kit builders who need it - I can help with that. MarkComment
