  • Lower door windows

I know at least one builder (Battson), that put plastic on his lower front doors and not just aluminum. I love that idea and want to do the same. For those who have done it did you use Lexan or acrylic? I know the upper windowneeds to be acrylic due to the avgas. Also what thickness did you use, was it 1/16 inch? Lastly did you simply attach it to the metal skin with screws just above and below the door main tubing? Thanks for any input.

I used 1/16 polycarbonate for all windows, though it may be a little thin for the upper windows. It is the Makralon brand, and has not reacted with avgas. I sandwiched the polycarbonate between the steel and aluminum.

Builders have done a variety of things on the lower doors. My Patrol has just a smallish section of acrylic. While others have covered the entire door with plexi. Mark
