  • Trying to locate Skylight fabrication details/instruction

After arduously searching, I cannot locate anywhere details for building and installing the skylight (4 Place specific). I've seen some beautiful pictures and examples. I've scoured Eric Newton's manual, Bob's plans and BH book, Bearhawktips.com, and thoroughly searched this forum...

What material is preferred? Plexi, Lexan.

I would like to know how the skylight meets the fabric at the rear and windscreen at the front.

How to prepare the formers and methods for weather tight attaching the skylight. Is the skylight installed before, or after covering the fuselage?

Perhaps this information is a snake that is about to bite because it is right in front of me, but I'm just not finding it! What resources did others follow for the skylight when at this juncture of their build?

    Rob,
Steve’s Aircraft on Facebook. Brian has over a 1,000 pictures of different aircraft he’s worked on...one being his STC for the PA20 and PA22 skylight..all the details are there and is easily adaptable to the Bearhawk. Once I get back to my Bearhawk...the skylight will be a new addition to my fuselage..which is at the quick build stage less paint...the only thing I’ll do different from the STC is to roll step beads on the formers the skylight attaches to at the windshield and trailing end of the fuselage...and lower the former 1/8” at the wing root. The goal being a flush skylight.

There are dozens of threads which contain answers to all those questions. Try searching with Google, inside the forum.

Either paste the following text into your Google search bar:

Well I'll be...! I had no idea about this Google search feature. This is my new friend! The native search feature in this forum is really bad! Thanks, Battson.
