I suspect that is a strip of aluminum that acts as kind of a spacer on the flanges of the false spar. In later kits, we spaced the rivets differently and that is not needed. Mark -

On the first wing I finished I forgot to install it, apparently no big deal, I can see a very minor depression in the skin compared to the ribs at the end of the false spar.Comment
