  • Pitot/Static tubing

    I'm running tubing in the fuselage for the static ports. I'm using 1/4" poly-flo tubing and 3/16" polyethylene fittings. The tubing id is smaller than 3/16", I have to warm the end of the tubing to install the fittings and they seem to seal tightly. Do I need to use some sort of clamps to secure the fittings?

    I don't know Rod. I'm using the kit that Avery Tools put out for experimentals. Avery is no longer but AS sells a similar kit with plenty of fittings. Designated for EFIS, but that only has to do with the color of the tubing. Maybe a PDF of the installation instructions would help if you can find it online.

      That's an interesting kit Paul, the different color tubing would be handy, but I got all the tubing and fittings I needed for under $20 and $30 for static ports from Vans.
