  • Level Location for ADAHRS

Can anyone confirm the floor board between stations B & C is level within 1 degree in straight and level flight? This where I am mounting my Dynon ADAHRS and this is the requirement per the Dynon Installation Guide. (The new Dynon SV-ADAHRS-200 is coupled to a separate SV-MAG-236 Magnetometer that is mounted outboard in the wing)

We mounted ours behind the panel on aluminum angles adel clamped to the top longerons. It works fine there. As I recall, I think we did adjust the level some by shimming or something when mounted. We did need to adjust the pitch shown on the display just a little once flying but that was easy to do in the calibration software. We also used the remote magnetometer which is mounted in the right wing out near the tip but not so close as to be affected by the steel hardware securing the tip.

Behind the panel makes sense so it's protected but if you want it on the floor, I would just suggest that you leave some room for adjustment in the mounting system you come up with. I have no idea if the floor is level or not in flight. I think it's close, but that will change with airspeed and cg loading. (but so will any mounting position)

Rob, you can always shim it with washers under the screws if it's not exactly right.
